Abstract

Ovaj se rad temelji na prikazivanju održive mode kao fenomena koji nas okuplja sve više i više. Prikazuje kako smo došli do trenutka kada modu moramo remodelirati te na koje sve načine moda utječe na okoliš – od odnosa prema prirodnim resursima, do odnosa prema ljudima unutar modnog sustava. Ona je mreža koja nas sve povezuje. Jedna majica koju nosimo za sebe veže sve one koji su sudjelovali u njezinom dizajnu te u proizvodnji svih njezinih dijelova i resursa za izradu materijala – isto tako, od distribucije i prodajnih predstavnika brendova, do nas kao kupaca i do onih koji će se joj se diviti dok bude na nama. Ovo nije kraj njezinog života jer ona nakon nas odlazi dalje, bilo da je poklonimo prijatelju, prodamo oglašavanjem ili doniramo, ona će završiti negdje živeći novi život. Često završi u zemljama u razvoju gdje će ponovo doživjeti prolazak kroz prodajni ciklus. Naposljetku, ona će završiti ili na kakvom odlagalištu gdje će (ovisno o materijalu od kojeg je sazdana) trunuti određeni broj godina, ili kao resurs za izradu kakvoga novog proizvoda. Ovaj će rad prikazati koji su sve elementi bitni za nastanak održive mode i koliko je ona ostvariva te koliko mi, kao oni koji sudjelujemo u njezinom ciklusu, određujemo kakva će moda zapravo biti.

Abstract (english)

This work is focused on presenting sustainable fashion as a phenomenon that brings us together. It shows us how we have come to the point in time where we must focus on the transformation of fashion and how it affects the environment - according to the availability of natural resources and emphasize the responsibility of people within the fashion industry. Fashion is a network that connects us all. The single t-shirt that we decide to wear binds all the people who participated in its design and production of all its components, resources, and materials. It connects us as customers with the distribution and sales representatives of the brands, and even to those who will admire the shirt while it is on us. The t-shirt’s life does not end here, it goes on after us as we give it to a friend, sell it through advertising, or choose to donate it, continuing its new life somewhere else. It often ends up in developing countries where it will once again go through a sales cycle. Eventually, the t-shirt will end up either in some landfill where (depending on the material it is made of) it will rot for a number of years, or be used as a resource for making some new product. This work will guide us through the important elements for emerging sustainable fashion and how achievable it is. It will show us how much we, as those who participate in its cycle, determine what
fashion will become.
