Abstract

Onečišćenje okoliša česticama mikroplastike danas je od velikog znanstvenog interesa na globalnoj razini. Tekstilna vlakna, kao izvor mikroplastike, jedna su od najzastupljenijih, posebice iz procesa pranja tekstilija. Količina otpuštenih čestica mikroplastike u procesu pranja najviše ovisi o vrsti i konstrukciji tekstilnog materijala, obradi i procesnim parametrima pranja. U ovom radu procijenjeno je otpuštanje čestica mikroplastike iz uzorka pamučne/PES tkanine oprane standardnim i inovativnim postupkom s dodatkom metalnih kuglica a nakon pet i deset uzastopnih ciklusa. Količina otpuštenih čestica je procijenjena gravimetrijskom metodom nakon membranske filtracije i karakterizacijom filtarskog kolača mikroskopiranjem te selektivnim bojadisanjem. Također su ispitani i kemijski i fizikalno-kemijski parametri efluenata i filtrata (pH, elektrovodljivost, mutnoća, ukupna čvrsta tvar, ukupna suspendirana tvar i ukupna otopljena tvar te kemijska potrošnja kisika - KPK). Rezultati su pokazali da je tijekom procesa pranja došlo do otpuštanjae mikročestica u obliku vlakana iz ispitivanog uzorka. Otpuštene čestice su bile većinom celuloznog podrijetla, ali je došlo i do otpuštanja čestica poliestera.

Abstract (english)

Environmental pollution with microplastic particles is of great scientific interest at the global level. Textile fibers, as a source of microplastics, are one of the most abundant, especially from the textile washing process. The amount of released microplastic particles in the washing process mostly depends on the type and construction of the textile material, processing and washing process parameters. In this paper, the release of microplastic particles from a sample of cotton/PES fabric washed by a standard and innovative process with the addition of metal balls was evaluated after five and ten conecutive cycles.. The amount of released particles was estimated by the gravimetric method after membrane filtration and characterization of the filter cake by microscopy and selective staining. Chemical and physical-chemical parameters of effluents and filtrates were also tested (pH, electrical conductivity, turbidity, total solid matter, total suspended matter and total dissolved matter, and chemical oxygen consumption - COD). The results showed that during the washing process the release of fiber-form micro-particles occurred from the tested sample. The particles were of cellulose origin, but polyester particles are also shedded.
