Abstract

Dvadesete godine 20. stoljeća svojim su značajem ostavile veliki trag na modi započevši
revoluciju slobode i modernosti. Moj završni rad bavi se proučavanjem utjecaja novonastalih
društvenih prilika na modu ludih dvadesetih. Cilj je utvrditi koje su promjene završetkom Prvog
svjetskog rata izmijenile društvo te tako imale upliv na tadašnje odijevanje. Šokantne promjene
u suštini su bile posljedica želje za uživanjem u životu, iskorištavanjem svega što može
ponuditi, pronalaska novog smisla... Jer rat je uskratio mnogo, a uništio još i više. Sloboda i
buntovnost koja se rađa u ljudima, posebice mladeži, donosi sa sobom novi pojam ljepote, ne
samo u modi nego i u načinu života. Ove promjene najveći utjecaj ostavile su na ženama koje,
nakon što su se izborile za svoja prava, šokiraju svojom buntovnošću i slobodoumnošću, a sve
to se uvelike odražava na njihovo odijevanje. Tako nastaje flapper djevojka. Lepršave i
nakićene haljine iznad koljena, duboki izrezi, kratka kosa, intenzivna šminka, piće u jednoj, a
cigareta u drugoj ruci- ukratko opisana slika ''nove žene'' ludih dvadesetih.

Abstract (english)

The 1920s left a great mark on fashion by starting the revolution of freedom and modernity.
My final paper deals with studying the influence that the newly formed social opportunities had
on the fashion of the Roaring Twenties. The aim is to determine which changes following World
War I altered the society, consequently influencing the attire of the time. Shocking changes
were essentially the result of a desire to enjoy life, exploiting all that it can offer, discovering
its new meaning ... For the war deprived so many lives, and ruined even more. Freedom and
rebellion that are born in people, especially the youth, bring along a new concept of beauty, not
only in fashion, but in the style of living. These changes had the greatest impact on women,
who, having fought for their rights, cause shock through their insurgence and broadmindedness,
all of which is greatly reflected on their way of dressing. That is how the flapper girl was born.
Fluttering and flamboyant dresses above the knee, deep necklines, short hair, intense makeup,
a drink in one hand and a cigarette in the other – this briefly describes the image of the “new
woman” of the Roaring Twenties.
