Abstract

Ključni problemi tekstilne industrije današnjice redom su ekološki nepovoljan utjecaj emaniran kroz sve faze proizvodnje i potrošnje tekstila, slojevita neetičnost ugrađena u sustav tekstilne proizvodnje te redukcija autentičnosti unutar dizajna. U nastavku teksta opisan je biomimetički pristup dizajnu po uzoru na održivost i funkcionalnost prirode koji nudi moguća rješenja problematike u okviru tekstilne proizvodnje na funkcionalnom, ali i na kreativnom planu - u vidu biomorfologije. U radu je dan pregled primjene biomimetike u proizvodnji tekstila. Povučena je paralela između biološkog svijeta i estetskog iskustva čovjeka te je opisana primjena biomorfološkog načela u okviru dizajna. Teorijski dio popraćen je praktičnim dijelom koji uključuje istraživanje mikroskopskih strukturalnih formi biljnog svijeta te prijenos i apstrahiranje istih na plošnoj površini tekstilnog materijala.

Abstract (english)

Key problems of textile industry today are negative environmental impact emanated through all phases of textile production and consumption, layered ethical issues incorporated in textile production system and reduction of authenticity in terms of design. Focused on sourcing ideas from nature, primarily its sustainability and functionality, biomimetic approach offers possible solutions to problems considering textile industry and the creative process of designing – based on biomorphic elements in nature. In further chapters overview of applied biomimetic principles in textiles and fashion is given. Parallel is drawn between biological world and aesthetic experience of the human eye and the implementation of biomorphic principle into design is described. Theoretical part is followed by practical one which is based on exploration of microscopic structural forms and shapes of plants in means of stem and leaves cross – section. Further, these structural shapes have been used as inspiration in creating abstract patterns on textile surface.
