Abstract

Cilj završnog rada je istražiti dizajnera Cristobala Balenciagu, njegov dizajn i kreativni opus od 1950. do 1968. godine. Istražiti ćemo elemente prepoznatljivosti A siluete i njenu konstantnost kroz vremenski period od 1955. do 1968., te utjecaj istih elemenata u 21.stoljeću, pritom uzimajući u obzir suvremeni kontekst modnog dizajna. Kroz rad se istražuje forma, struktura i elementi A odjevne siluete koji su potom korišteni za izradu vlastite kolekcije modne odjeće. Pri izradi kolekcije inspirirane A siluetom, odabrani odjevni predmet će biti prikazan kroz postupak izrade te potom realiziran, pritom pazeći na konzistenciju elemenata koji čine A siluetu poput forme stošca, monumentalnosti odjevnog oplošja i voluminoznosti odjevnog oblika.

Abstract (english)

The aim of the final work is to explore designer Cristóbal Balenciaga, his design and creativity from 1950. to 1968. We will explore the elements of recognizability of A-line silhouette and it's constancy over the time period from 1955. to 1968 , and the influence of the same elements in the 21st century, taking into account the contemporary context of fashion design. Through the work we are exploring the shape, structure and elements of the A-line silhouette which are then used to create collection of the fashion garments. During the proces of designing a collection inspired by A-line silhouette, the chosen garment will be displayed through the process of making and then realizing, while keeping in mind the consistency of elements that build the silhouette in shape of a cone, the monumentality and the volume of the shape through the cut.
