Abstract

Cilj ovog istraživanja je istražiti i analizirati povijesne kostime koji su bili inspiracija za likove u filmu i analizu povijesnih kostima koji su kombinirani s modernom i futurističkom odjećom koju je dizajnirala kostimografkinja nominirana za Oscara, Ruth E. Carter. Metode istraživanja uključuju pregled filma i empirijsko istraživanje koje će se sastojati od ilustracija koje će izraditi autorica. Kostimi u filmu posuđeni su iz raznih afričkih plemena diljem kontinenta, no kostimi su preoblikovani u futuristički model i predstavljaju mješavinu moderne Afrike, afropunk i afrofuturističke mode. Svaki lik ima svoj jedinstveni stil, a paleta boja predstavlja različita afrička plemena i društveni status likova. Kroz ovo istraživanje zaključuje se da su kostimi u ovom filmu na drugoj razini u usporedbi s drugim Marvelovim filmovima o superherojima jer se ne radi samo o dizajniranju likova, već i o dizajniranju cijele kulture

Abstract (english)

The goal of this research is to explore and analyze the historical costumes that were the inspirations for the characters in the movie, and an analysis of historical costumes that are combined with modern and futuristic clothing designed by Oscar-nominated costume designer Ruth E. Carter . Research methods include a review of the movie and empirical research that will consist of illustrations made by the author. Costumes in the movie are borrowed from various African tribes across the continent, but the costumes are reshaped into a futuristic model and represent a blend of modern Africa, afropunk, and afrofuturistic fashion. Each character has their own unique style, and the color palette represents different African tribes and social statuses of characters. Through this research, it is concluded that the costumes in this movie are on another level compared to other Marvel superhero movies, as it's not just about designing characters, but also about designing an entire culture.
